Fare's Industrial Tool
& Supply dates back to the end of the 1940's when Corona
was a small agricultural town surrounded by orange groves
and packing plants. Originally the store was called Corona
Hardware, but later it became known as Fare's Hardware.
Fare's Hardware was a typical hardware store where you could
buy tools, nuts and bolts and appliances.
When Minnesota mining Company
moved to Corona, they needed more items than a typical hardware
store carried, among these the bigger nuts and bolts a large
quarry and mining company needed. As a result, Corona Hardware
began to stock an extraordinary inventory to support the
new industry.
The actual introduction
of Fare's Industrial was in 1957 by Gerald Fare. The company
was incorporated in 1963 and in 1971 was purchased by three
individuals from Gerald Fare.
In March of 1998,
the business was sold to Bliaya and Evens Distribution,
Inc. consisting of M. Bliaya (MB) and Robert Evens, the
majority share holders. Bob Evens is the President of Fare's
and is active in the day to day operations of the company
.
Fare's entire inventory
is currently housed on their premises that cover about 11,500
square feet. Approximately 30000 different items are in
inventory at all times and our product lines are expanding.
Fare's customers have changed
as the City of Corona has changed and so have we. Fares
has recently put up a website, Farestools.com. Gravel and
sand plants, manufacturing, construction and transportation
companies have replaced the packing plants of the past.
The company is aware of the growing amount of competition
including the big super stores. For this reason Fare's must
continue
"TO PROVIDE PRODUCTS
WHEN THEY ARE NEEDED AT COMPETITIVE PRICES".
